OUR CLUB

The Flying Knights Model Aircraft Club started in the 1950's as a group of control line, free flight, and early R/C aeromodelers, located in Troy New York. The group formalized their organization in 1957, and went on to be chartered with the Academy of Model Aeronautics as AMA 445.

The FlyingKnights maintains one of the nicest flying sites in the Capital District. Located 12 miles south of Albany, on County Route 101 Ravena, New York, our spacious flying site is great for flying everything from park flyers to 1/4 scale airplanes.

Centered on a 100 x 600 foot flat grass runway, the Flying Knights field includes a 1/4 mile overfly area, a large dedicated pit area, spectator seating, covered picnic tables, AMA recommended frequency control, five pilot stations, aircraft assembly tables, ample parking, an enclosed maintenance building, and best of all, a portable toilet facility.

The Flying Knights field is located on private property and shares its entry road with an industrial area. Please help us by observing the posted  5 mile-per-hour speed limit  at all times
